As a child we holidayed in Wales on occasion. North Wales was only 2 hours from St Helens. Earliest remembrances are Red Wharf Bay on the Isle of Anglesey and Llandudno. Betws-y-coed, Llanberis, Caernafon, Beaumaris, Rhosneiger all places of summers past.
My first real posting was to South Wales, RAF Brawdy, past Haverfordwest and on the way to St Davids. As I was told when leaving RAF Cosford, go down the M5, turn right at Bristol and keep going until you hit the sea. Just about sums it up.
I like Wales. The Welsh aren't too bad, as long as their rugby team is winning. I will retire to Pembrokeshire.
