Travelling from the Grand Canyon to Monument Valley we experienced every weather type imaginable: bright sun, clear sky, snow, hailstones, rain, you name it. We even had a red-out sandstorm, most impressive one I've seen.
We were beginning to think, by the time we arrived at Gouldings Lodge, that we were in for a nasty tour of the valley the following day.
We needn't have worried.
Although it was chilly, it is 6000ft up and it was late October when all's said and done, the sun shone all day. Lucky we bought all the warm clothes at the Grand Canyon.
We took a jeep tour with a Navajo guide which was most excellent. The colours are simply stunning.
Thing we took away though was the flatbread recipe. Goes with everything, savoury or sweet.
As ever, pictures here.
